ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES IN JAIPUR

Pink, pink everywhere. All the buildings around me were dusty pink in colour. You guessed it right, I am talking about Jaipur, which is the capital of Rajasthan also known as the Pink city was established by the great warrior Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II . Recently, I had a beautiful experience of visiting historical monuments and architecture in Jaipur. These palaces were built by ancient kings and their families.

After a brief research of the best resort in Jaipur and keeping the budget in my mind, I booked a room at Mandawa Haveli.

After reaching the resort, I was mesmerised by the beauty of Mandawa Haveli. Seeing the ancient and lavishly constructed havelis and courtyards, I came to know why so many tourists from all around the globe come and visit this place. The room provided to me was filled up with historical pictures and photos of the region. Keeping the new generation in mind and maintaining their culture, they have added new facilities like swimming pools, Air conditioners etc. After having my breakfast, I started to explore some famous monuments.

First, I visited Hawa mahal. I was surprised to know that the palace has no entrance from outside , the tallest building in the world with no foundation, no stairs and  there were 953 small windows in total. Mind blowing right? I entered the palace from the side and  it was filled with foreign tourists. I visited all the mandirs on each floor and could feel the cooling effect inside. I took lots of photos outside the palace. In the evening, I visited Amer Fort which was located on the top of a hill. From there I could see Moata lake. I had two options before me to get to the fort, either take the staircase or the elephant ride. Since I wanted to experience and feel the royalty, I opted for the elephant ride. I was a little scared but seeing other tourists I got the confidence to ride it. I came to know from the visitors that the best way to experience the fort’s beauty was at night in a light and sound show. It was mind blowing.

Next on my list was City Palace, which was one of the most famous and major landmarks in Jaipur. I got a glimpse of the lifestyle of the Rajput rulers which made it unique and different when compared with other forts and palaces. I spent some quiet time in the gardens. I came to know that many film shootings took place inside the palace and I was fortunate to see a glimpse of a film shooting  a song which took place on the same day.

In the last 2 days of my trip, I spent on adventurous things like kayaking, ATV ride, boating etc. It was a lot of fun and thrilling. Overall, my entire trip was exciting . I had delicious and regional cuisine and I learned a lot about our Indian culture and heritage. If anyone wants to  go with your family and explore Jaipur and its culture, here are some of the resorts in Jaipur for family where you can have a good stay.
